As a child, I was involved in a variety of sports such as softball, field hockey, gymnastics, lacrosse, and dance. Over time, field hockey became a very strong passion of mine playing four years at Emmaus High School and going on to play Division I hockey at the University of Delaware. After field hockey ended, I continued to pursue my passion through umpiring youth, NCAA, and on the international stage. I found CrossFit in 2022 when I was looking for a fun, varied,d and competitive environment to maintain my fitness year-round. Little did I know that I would find such a strong community with various backgrounds, goals, and experiences to help me reach my umpiring goals and help me develop as a person.
A large turning point in my life was in 2014 when I was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. During that time, I had an extremely difficult time coping and taking time off from my training and teammates. I was witnessing my fitness deteriorate daily, struggling to walk to the bathroom on my own. Through this experience, I found immense gratitude, trust in myself, and a passion for helping others when they cannot help themselves. I was extremely fortunate to be in a position to receive treatment, have support from loved ones, and continue living my life without restrictions. Doing even the simplest of daily tasks is a privilege and I try to maintain that mindset daily.
I have always gravitated towards coaching in areas that I am passionate about. It has led me to a career as an Occupational Therapist, coaching field hockey, mentoring umpires, and CrossFit. I am motivated by the constant pursuit of progress and fueled by helping others see their potential, move outside their comfort zone, and meet their goals.
